Shared Topics: Premium Services and What Keeps You Coming Back?

Greetings, greetings! I didn’t mean to fall behind again, but I’ve been backpacking for about a week and a half now, and sure enough, the inevitable happened.

I’m still really pressed for time – I’ve totally overstayed my welcome in this coffee shop – so this round up is going to be quick. Besides, I’m quite positive that these posts are read for the links, not for the fluff I add to them ;D

So the Shared Topic from two weeks ago! Corath of Corath’s Blog proposed:

What are your thoughts on not only this new feature, but “premium” features being added into the game?

Participating were:

Corath from Corath’s Blog (he even participated twice!)

Amerence from Amerence Love WoW

Violet Scribe from The Violet Scribe

Saz from World of Saz

Akabeko from Red Cow Rise

Lodur from World of Matticus

And last week’s Topic was suggested by Ringo Flinthammer of Flinthammer Hall (who always saves our necks when we run out of Topics!):

Despite a well-publicized dip in subscriber numbers, most WoW players have stuck around. But those folks didn’t leave for no reason, so what keeps you coming back and still playing?

Is it the friends? The new content? Old content still to explore? Alts? PvP? Roleplaying?

Violet Scribe from The Violet Scribe

Saz from World of Saz

The Ancient from Tome of the Ancient

Kamalia from Kamalia et alia

Amerence from Amerence Love WoW

As this week, we have a great Topic about death consequences in MMOs. Blog about it and share a link to your post in the thread at Blog Azeroth for some link love next weekend!

Netherhood Welcome Wagon – The Middle of the Forest

Hello Everyone! I’d like you to join me in welcoming Zaralyn of The Middle of the Forest!

Zaralyn has been playing WoW since Vanilla, enticed into the game by friends who had played the Beta and had shared their experiences. She took a break at the start of The Burning Crusade, finding that the change in raid format brought forth many problems in her guild that she just didn’t have the heart to deal with. Zaralyn returned to the game mid-WotLK, and finding her guild had a shortage of healers decided that she’d level a healer to help.

At the start of Cataclysm, Zaralyn found herself in quite the predicament. She wanted to raid with her husband, but was limited by his work schedule – which required him to be awake at 3:00 am each day. The obvious solution to Zaralyn was to create her own raid team, and set her own schedule! Her raid team is part of a larger guild, which helps cut down on part of her workload, and provides her more time to focus on just raiding. She works with a group of folks who have similar scheduling conflicts, but would still like to see end game content. While they may not be setting world records, they continue to progress on content while it’s relevant and enjoy the time they spend together.

Zaralyn started her blog so that she could have somewhere to host her thoughts in more than the 140 characters provided by twitter. She discusses any number of topics from raid leading to druiding. She discusses her decision to start her own raid team as well as an in depth look at different loot systems that she has experienced. You can also find her thoughts on building a raid team and some of the different ways that trinkets can interact with innervate.

Zaralyn is off to a great start!  I can’t wait to read more about the adventures she has with her guild!  Welcome to the Blogosphere, Zaralyn!

Netherhood Welcome Wagon – A Sunnier Bear

Hello Everyone!  I’d like you to join me in welcoming Sunnier of A Sunnier Bear!

Sunnier started playing WoW right after The Burning Crusade was released, drawn in by her dorm-mates her freshman year of college. She raided everything from Karazhan to Ice Crown Citadel with a feral druid named Safari. Once Deathwing wreaked havoc on Azeroth, she deicded that it was time to start fresh and created a worgen druid – Sunnier. She has a passion for feral tanking, and can’t imagine doing anything else with her druid! She’s almost as equally passionate about raiding, and strives to progress as far as possible.

She started A Sunnier Bear as a way to share her experiences and display boss strategies in a nice, clean format. In addition to all of the feral chatter, she’s also expended into other topics, such as raiding and feral tanking.

You will find a plethora of topics over at A Sunnier Bear, including Sunnier’s take on the new dungeon journal and how she feels a bit bad for Atramedes. You will also find intruiging thoughts on how to make tanking more interactive and a in depth comparison of tanking cooldowns. She also offers a great look at being a feral hybrid.

Sunnier loves helping others and answering questions, so if you have any feral questions head her way and she’s be thrilled to offer her two cents!  I think she’s off to a great start!  Welcome to the blogoshpere, Sunnier!
