Netherhood Welcome Wagon – The Gamer’s Fridge

Hello Everyone!  I’d like you to join me in welcoming Edenvale of The Gamer’s Fridge.

Edenvale has been playing WoW with her husband since before the release of TBC. Together they tackle everything that WoW has to offer – from raiding content at their own pace, to PvP and generally social silliness often partaking in shenanigans cooked up by their guild mates. She loves meeting new members of the community, and finds the social network of the game very intriguing. One of the parts of the game that interests her the most is building those relationships and investing in those friendships, new and old alike.

Edenvale works as a cake decorator and baker in a bakery, and her knowledge of delicious treats has spilled over into some very creative blogging! In fact she’s envisioned some of Azeroth’s favorite dishes to be cooked in your very own kitchen! Don’t worry, even if your definition of cooking is opening the Ramen and dumping the noodles in the pan, Edenvale has recipes that you can easily prepare!

You won’t find any crazy ingredients or spices on my blog. Normal nerdy food for normal nerdy people. What I want is a WoW player to stumble upon my blog & say,”I have everything to make this in the kitchen. This will be fun!” No trudging all over town to find ingredients to make one meal.

You will find recipes ranging anywhere from Delicious Chocolate Cake and Fortune Cookies to Mulgore Spice Bread and Kaldorei Spider Kabobs!

Evendale has done a fantastic job at combining her creativity and her passion for food! It really looks like a ton of fun and I know that I can’t wait to experiment with some of these recipes myself! Welcome to the Blogosphere, Evendale!

Every Tuesday, Beruthiel from Falling Leaves and Wings is bringing you the Welcome Wagon, introducing new bloggers and great reads. If you know of a new blog to the scene or wish to get your name out there, please send an email to fallingleaves51@gmail.com, with the subject line “Welcome Wagon.” She’ll do her best to highlight as many as possible!

Shared Topics: Who Owns a Guild? and Character Guest Column

Following my newly installed tradition (which I do hope to break in the future), we have two exciting Shared Topics to, well, share.

The first, from two weeks ago, was suggested by Nube from The Lonely Pally about guild ownership:

Since Cata started, guilds matter more. In order to receive Guild benefits, everyone most work for them. In Wotlk, leaving a guild meant changing Guild Tags, in Cata it means TIME.

Does a Guild belong to those who lead it? Should we check Guild Etiquette?

Speaking up were:

Nube from The Lonely Pally

Unglar from Shredding Attacks

Aliera from The Violet Scribe

Kvenna from Kvenna

Christine from Christine’s Blog

Forz1 from Dented Armor

Typhoon Andrew from Typhoon Andrew – Eye of the Storm

Saz from World of Saz

Rustbeard from Little Blue Dog

Shadowfôx from Death Knights Don’t Blog

Morynne from Marks 365

Anslym from Bag Overflow

Herculano from Herc the Merk

As for our second topic, Akabeko from Red Cow Rise came up with the creative idea of letting one of our characters guest post on our blog:

Your character has been chosen to be published in the revered guest column section of a major publication (Ironforge Times, The Steamwheedle Port Journal, The Orgrimmar Post, etc). Share a clipping of their editorial, guide, meandering nostalgia piece, impassioned call to action, scathing political takedown, or shameless self-advertisement on your blog.

Check out the character guests posts from:

Typhoon Andrew from Typhoon Andrew – Eye of the Storm

Aliera from The Violet Scribe

Squelchy from Blame Squelchy

This upcoming week, we’re Sharing the appropriately timed Topic of class gear sets. With tier 12 looks being revealed only a few days ago, quite a few us have our minds on gear sets! Write all about it on your blog and Share a link to your post in the thread at Blog Azeroth.

As a reminder, if you participate in the Topic, please include a link your post (not just your blog!) when replying to the thread. If you don’t provide a link for me to work with, I won’t be able to include you in this write-up.

Netherhood Welcome Wagon – Stand in the Blue Circle

Hello Everyone!  I’d like you to join me in welcoming Alacran of Stand in the Blue Circle!

Alacran has a long history with WoW, dating back to Christmas 2005 when he was given the game as a gift by his friend Juanpablo. After he moved to Mexico, he found WoW to be an invaluable way to keep touch with friends from back home. He first started his shaman adventures during the Burning Crusade as a Troll, however once factions changes became available the lure of the spacegoat (and playing with alliance friends) was irresistible and Alacran became a Draenei.

While Raiding has always been an important part of Alacran’s gaming time, he has more recently discovered the challenges of Arena play, and has begun to competitively participate in PvP. While he feels that it was a huge challenge, he also thinks that it not only made him a better shaman but a better raider as well.

At the start of Cataclysm, Alacran made the decision to move from his current 25 man guild to a 10 man guild with a limited raid schedule – as he found that he could no longer keep up with 4 night a week raids with his new responsibilities as a papa. He now raids two nights a week, and is 10/12 with heroic Halfus down, and recognizes some of the unique challenges that are presented with such limited raid time.

Alacran started blogging via school, and well, one thing led to another and now we have another fantastic shaman resource! He has had a number of great opportunites through his blog, such as interviewing GTFO author Zensunim and an extremely intruiging guest post by Dr. Octavio that explores Shamanism in Mexico.

On the Healing side of things, Alacran shares his UI and takes a look at GridStatusChainHeal. You will also find him discussing the role of deep healing in 4.1. And just in case you are too hesitant to ask questions, Alacran has put together a list of questions that he wishes you’d ask!

Alacran lets us know that we can expect to see more discussion on healin, resto shamans and 10′s raiding in the future. He’s also looking forward to the friendships that he’s already made through blogging and in the Twitter community. With what I’ve seen so far, I certainly know that I’m looking forward to more!

Welcome to the Blogosphere, Alacran!
