Episode 90 - Finally Fimlys

Spread the love
Wow.. Can’t believe it’s been 2 years already! We’re 2 years in and 90-odd shows (definitely odd).. This week we celebrate in style.. With YOU! Special Surprise? Fimlys sits on the hot seat.. No, he didn’t burn his tush.. Somehow he agrees to answer all the biting questions Nib (and the chatroom) can come up with. I think truth serum of some kind was involved. Anyway, in addition to waxing poetical about the whole genesis of this TNB thing (and just generally talking forever, as usual), the gang discusses a little more 3.3.5 information, gets you ready to be one of the first 7500 people in the queue to buy Blizzcon tickets and play YOUR “birthday” wishes and musings. Oh.. And the BEST Birthday Song EVAR!

General News

Operation Gnomeregan and Zalazane’s Fall have been added to the PTR. They have said it will not go live with the 3.3.5 release. They did say that it won’t coincide with any patch release though, so we could be seeing it pretty soon after 3.3.5 goes live. I have a feeling they are putting it in there so that when they see people getting bored with Ruby Sanctum, they can turn it on .. 🙂

In patch 3.3.5, we will be introducing our new Battle.net system, which opens up new communication options for World of Warcraft players and lays the groundwork for integration with future Blizzard games, such as StarCraft II. In order to ensure that the implementation of this major new system goes as smoothly as possible, we plan to release the patch to North American realms first, with Europe, Korea, and the region of Taiwan following approximately one week afterward. -Slorkuz

From WoW.com:
If you’re curious about the Wrathgate expansion for the WoW Trading Card Game, you can get up to three overviews of it from the official site. These overviews, written by winners of the Wrathgate contest this April, give you a sense of the place this expansion to the TCG has both in terms of the card game and the larger WoWuniverse. William Brinkman covers both the Argent Crusade and Flying Mounts, while David Lyons discusses how the in-game Wrathgate experience is translated to the card game. If you’re a player of the TCG or are just curious about how WoW makes the transition to a different format, go give them a read.

A reminder to those planning on purchasing BlizzCon 2010 tickets: The first round of sales for tickets will be tomorrow, June 2 at 7:00 p.m. PDT/10:00 p.m. EDT. BlizzCon 2010 will be taking place Oct. 22-23 in Anaheim, California.

Tickets are $150 each. For those unable to get tickets during tomorrow’s window, there will be a second round of sales on Saturday, June 5 at 10:00 a.m. PDT/1:00 p.m. EDT. There is a five-ticket limit per household.

For those unable to attend the convention proper, the DirecTV Pay Per View event will return in 2010 for $39.95, as well as the multi-channel internet stream of the event. For the first time, anyone who purchases the internet stream will be able to switch freely between multiple channels of coverage dedicated to different areas of BlizzCon, meaning viewers can tune in to the sections they’re most interested in, rather than what they’re stuck with.
