Netherhood Welcome Wagon – Channeling the Mist

Hello Everyone! I’d like you to join me in welcoming Secretbrew of Channeling the Mist.

Secretbrew started her WoW career at the encouragement of her brother back during The Burning Crusade. Thinking that WoW was just a fad, she was reluctant to make the commitment to the game. However, after the success WoW saw during it’s original release, Secretbrew drank the koolaid and started a Warlock. It wasn’t long before she realized that dps wasn’t her cup of tea, and she decided to reroll a Druid lot heal.

Once Secretbrew started healing, she found she couldn’t stop, and eventually found herself healing with Blood Legion through progression content. Enjoying healing on her Druid, she was quick to learn about the extremely strong Druid community. As information started to release about the mistweaver monk, Secretbrew found she was enamoured with the possibilities and immediately fell in love with the class. Having seen the strength of the Druid community, she thought she’d start the monk community off right, and thus Channeling the Mist was born.

Eventhough the monk class has limited information available, Secretbrew has done a fantastic job compiling the data and offering her thoughts on the possibilities of the class. You can find some basic information on the monk class along with some of the new things we will be seeing in Pandaria. Secretbrew also looks at some of the first pieces of information that we have on the Monk healing style.

I, for one, am excited about the pandas and think that Secretbrew is off to a great start! I can’t wait to see what she has to offer as we learn more about this mystic race. Welcome to the blogosphere, Secretbrew!

Every Tuesday, Beruthiel from Falling Leaves and Wings is bringing you the Welcome Wagon, introducing new bloggers and great reads. If you know of a new blog to the scene or wish to get your name out there, please send an email to fallingleaves51@gmail.com, with the subject line “Welcome Wagon.” She’ll do her best to highlight as many as possible

Resource Site Spotlight – Raidbots!

How’s this for an opening line? – Raidbots is World of Logs on steroids?

Actually I do not much care for that one, too negative of a connotation. Lets try this –

Raidbots is World of Logs on Hypermode, with visual data’s!

That’s more like it.

Raidbots is a site that takes the entirety of the World of Logs database, compiles it, and gives it to you with visual representation and allows you to set up custom parses to compare raids, classes, roles, etc. to your own specifications. And does it so effortlessly, it’s actually FUN!

Want to know how Marksmanship Hunters stack up with Balance Druids on heroic Shannox 25 man? Raidbots can show you that with exacting parameters to meet your needs/desires.

The site works so well in fact I was able to test it out on my mobile phone and it worked perfectly.

Even if you are not the hard core min/max type, or the exacting theorycrafter, Raidbots is still a very cool site to play with and check out some very shiny graphs. And who doesn’t like graphs, really?

I like to give credit where credit is due, but I honestly forget what podcast I was listening to that featured an interview with the sites creator (I listen to an obnoxious amount of podcasts) though I believe it was The Hunting Party Podcast. (Please correct me in the comments if I’m wrong).

As always I highly recommend going to the site to check it out, even if you think it’s not something you will use, because you never know until you try! At least that’s what I keep telling my 3 year old daughter with considerable food pickiness 🙂

Cheers!

~Ril

Shared Topic: Guild Tradition

Welcome back to the Shared Topic! Last week our Shared Topic didn’t get quite garner enough responses, so it’s been tossed back into the draft pool for another time. This weeks topic fared a little better, and was suggested by the lovely Tzufit. She asked us to share our dearest and most cherished guild traditions!

Every guild has a certain personality, style, and even traditions all of its own. Do you have certain abilities that you always need to use on a boss kill screenshot? Or perhaps your guild holds an annual holiday party? What special traditions does your guild have?

Participating bloggers were:

TyphoonAndrew from TyphoonAndrew’s Eye of the Storm

Tzufit from Tree Heals Go Whoosh

Syrco from Syrco Owl

Amerence from Amerence Love WoW

This week bloggers from around the Nether are comparing notes on their reactions to Blizzcon and the upcoming Mists of Pandaria. Anyone who wrote a post cheering, crying, or ranting about the upcoming changes is welcome to share their ideas with us at the Shared Topic forum.

If you have a great topic and want to see some posts about it, feel free to contribute your idea! We’re always looking for intriguing ways to stretch those writing muscles.

Netherhood Thank You Wagon – Blizzcon Edition

Wait, what?!

You see, this is where I usually introduce a new blogger to the community.  Only today, rather than do that I wanted to use this space to give a very big Thank You to both Fimlys and Hydra for everything that they do for the community.  Every year the thing that really makes Blizzcon is the people.  It’s not the announcements about the pandas.  It’s not getting to play a Zerg campaign (which, by the way, I had my ass handed to me with).  It is, however, all about the people.  And every year, Fimlys and Hydra do a lot of work to make an amazing community meetup and it is one of the highlights of my Blizzcon experiences.

So today, rather than welcome a new blogger into the community, I wanted to take this time to let these two amazing people know how much the community appreciates their hard work!  Hydra, Fimlys I feel that I speak for the community when I say “thank you” and that the blogging community wouldn’t be the same without your efforts.
