Shared Topic: What you need to know about [Class]

This week’s Shared Topic is brought to you by Aos of Flux and encourages blog authors to write a primer of things to know about their class. To quote the original post where he describes his idea:

It’s a conversation with you and someone who doesn’t want to know your class specifics. They just want to know what they need to do when they are in a party or raid with you.

For example:

  • Tanks could highlight how easy or difficult they are to heal, how much initial or long term aggro they build, their essential specials abilities, or their tanking role.
  • Healers could highlight aggro dumping or lack of it, ability to deal with spike healing or overall healing and mana efficiency. Or anything else you value.
  • DPS could highlight aggro dumping, positioning, special abilities, or even how important their group buffs are.

It’s up to you.

Downtime Round-up: 7/22/08

dt_roundupOkay, technically, it is not the “downtime” round-up, since episode 9 isn’t out yet.  But, it is in the works and we hope to have it out very soon.  Now let’s pretend and continue with the show!

Is it that time again! That’s right boys and girls, it is roundup time! We are excited to have Anna from Too Many Annas joining us as our Twisted Blog next episode. If there are any burning questions you would like to ask her, feel free to send them in!  Here are a few posts you may have missed!

Hay to Munch on:

  • You may have noticed a Turf War going on, all in the name of “Foshizzle”, if you don’t know what I am talking about, go here first, then there, then here, and back here…response have been overwhelming as Druids make their voices known and even a hunter or two:

Here are a few, thanks BBB for the list:

Netherhood Welcome Wagon – Andrea of Altoholicmom’s Are Us

WWLogoWelcome Andrea of Altoholicmom’s Are Us to the Blogging Netherhood.

Andrea is a 23 year old mother of two, living in Alaska. (Who knew they had internet in Alaska?) Her husband is a serving in the US Coast Guard and in her most recent post she’d shared with us that he’s been deployed for a month and the impact that’s having on her real, blogging and gaming life. Outside of gaming, she enjoys scrap booking, quilting, painting and hopes to return to traveling when her young children get a little older.

Andrea started blogging on July 3rd. Her entries follow her and her merry band friends through their successes and woes. Twice she has been a GM while playing horde side, but she has currently re-rerolled alliance and brought a few horde converts with her. (Or maybe they are spys.) Her writing shows a feisty spirit of a woman who’s worked WoW into one of her priorities in a very full and vibrant life. A guild mate of Dechion from Be Nameless, and already participating in some BA Shared Topics Andrea is settling into our Blog-o-sphere quite nicely.

So, welcome to the blog-o-sphere Andrea. May your readers be numerous and your typos be few.

Every Friday, the Twisted Nether Team has provided me (Auzara of Chick GM) with an opportunity to highlight a new blogger and welcome them to our blog-o-sphere. If you have a wonderful new blog I may have missed, please drop me a line at ChickGM at gmail dot com with a title of Welcome Wagon. I can’t promise to highlight them all but I’ll certainly try.

TNB is LIVE!

EDIT: Well, it’s over! Thanks to everyone who participated. Hopefully I will have a recorded version of the show online on monday.. 🙂

Come join us for this special event! That’s right! For one show, the Twisted Nether Blogcast will be recorded live and you can participate! Join us as several WoW bloggers come over to our virtual roundtable and discuss all things regarding WoW and blogging.

Who is going to be on the show?

We have Kestrel from Kestrel Aeire’s, Phae from Resto4Life, Matticus from World of Matticus, Auzara from Chick GM and Anna from Too Many Annas. Oh those hosts…what are their names…Bim and Fre?

That’s great Bre, stop selling the darn thing, and tell me when it is!

The show is scheduled for Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 12:30 am EST (yes I know that technically makes its Sunday, July 20, just go with me on this)

Okay that is a start, now where do I go?

To participate on the live show, you will need to go to the TNB Ustream show and use the password tnb73 (the password is caps sensitive. Only use lowercase)

See easy!

Some general ground rules:

  1. Be nice. If you say very inappropriate things be aware you will be kicked from the room. We are doing this to have a great time, come with a beer, come during a raid, come how you wish, just don’t come to cause trouble.
  2. You may ask questions to the participants during the show, but we reserve the right to use them if and when we can. I will be monitoring the chat room and if I can I will use the comments during the show. We love that you are with us, but I will have to weave them in. Even if it isn’t asked, we all appreciate your questions

Outside of that, we will love to have you join us and partake in an enlightening discussion that is sure to follow!

Hope to see you there!
