As promised here are a few screenshots I took just prior to the recording of last weeks Addonation Segment on TNB.

This just serves to highlight the import and export functionality of PowerAuras (one of the greatest mods ever written!!)

As mentioned in the segment, you can go to the PowerAuras Wiki (as well as other sources I’m certain) to find already coded Auras that you can import into your own set VERY easily. Check out the Wiki for your class/spec to see what is available and try them, deleting Auras couldn’t be easier, simply Ctrl click the Aura in the menu and delete. No settings will be retained for positioning that will affect further Auras.

Despite the fact that Curse gets a great deal of attention, and I point a finger at myself for this (see the Addonation segment at the close of each TNB show), there is a very viable alternative source for World of Warcraft addons out there on the internetherz…

And that source is WoW Interface (wowinterface.com)

My biggest pull to Curse over WoW Interface was always that I preferred the UI of Curse. However, WoW Interface has clearly and markedly increased the quality of their UI and to say the least, I think it’s beautiful! It’s simple, yet attention grabbing, great colors, and well laid out.

I certainly intend to feature WoW Interface in my Addonation segments for the podcast moving forward and I encourage all of you to head to WoW Interface to “shop” for your addons and UI mods as well. This is a site that is showing that they understand the community and our needs.

Despite it’s name, HealBot (Now called HealBot Continued) is by no means a bot. HealBot is a raid frames addon that collects your party or raid information into a small localized window that can be reshaped and moved around your screen at your will. It has numerous skins that can be customized depends on your needs. Mine is the default list of five or ten names. It fits snug right next to PallyPower.

As a Holy Paladin, I absolutely adore HealBot. It turns the button mashing of healing into an art of keyboard and mouse combinations. There are numerous combinations of buttons available. Personally I use the left, middle, and right mouse buttons. I customize this to include the Shift key with any of these buttons. That gives me Flash of Light (Left Click), Holy Shock (Middle Click) and Holy Light (Right Click) for my most used spells. Along with these I include Beacon of Light (Shift Left Click), Sacred Shield (Shift Middle Click) and Lay on Hands (Shift Right Click). You can also use the key combinations to target other party members, or even setup a one click Assist command.

Speaking of Beacon of Light, one of the things that I like the most about HealBot has got to be that it tracks who I’ve casted Beacon on. In fact, it can also track Sacred Shield and the Flash of Light Buff. In addition to all of this, it even counts down so that you know when to reapply these spells! This has been extremely useful to me in raids and dungeons.

You will also no doubt notice in the screenshots another cool feature of HealBot: It tracks raid marks. Whenever a party or raid member gets marked via Deadly Boss Mods or another addon, HealBot updates to show the marking. This is awesome! When Lord Jaraxxus casts Incinerate Flames, I don’t care what the name of the person is; I care about getting them healed up. With this feature, I don’t have to waste time trying to find a name in a list, all I’ve got to do is blow up the skull with a bunch of heals. This also helps if you happen to be in a PUG or just started raiding. Ask the raid leader to toss some marks onto the tanks you’re supposed to be healing and you will have no problem keeping the tanks up.

HealBot has a great number of features, and to talk about them all would make this review go on and on. There are some healers who swear by Grid or Clique or any other number of raid frames. For me, HealBot is the number one choice for my Paladin healing. I encourage any healers, especially first time to healers, to give HealBot as fair of a chance as Grid or Clique. If you learn how to use it correctly, this addon could become a staple in your raiding interface.

Addonation is brought to you by Casual Adam of Casualcraft. Each week we strive to uncover Addons that may or may not already be a part of your UI, as well as some Addons that you probably shouldn’t be without.

Last show Fim and I discussed that we’d like to have an Addon review.. and well.. I do that already on my blog.. so I’ve decided to go ahead and crosspost those reviews here on TNB. If anyone else is interested in posting addon reviews please contact us at info@twistednether.net and we’ll get something arranged.

No, this isn’t a hunter addon.. though I suppose hunters could use it .

Multishot is a tiny little addon that automatically takes screenshots for you when certain events happen. You can open the config by hitting ESC and choosing Interface, then the Addon tab. As you can see by my config** (which I’m pretty sure is the default out-of-the-box config). It can take screenshots when you levelup, get an achievement, or when a boss dies either in a dungeon or in a raid.

It does very well capturing the levelup moment.. and the achievements.. but it’s hit/miss on boss deaths. It seems to catch about 90% of them.

That’s it.

** and yes, I will admit it.. I have a lot of addons installed. Whatever.
