Ahhh Fim... got to get you "down here" and edumaktake you...

Tinny is indeed a can.. of beer. (or a small aluminum boat, on which you drink... ummm... tinnies)

Stubby is also a vessel for beer, same size (375ml), but glass. Unless it's a NT (Northern Territory - central north Oz) stubby, in which case it's 2.25 litres.. yes I have one, so I can always prove it.

The come packed in slabs (24) or cases.. sometimes case also refer to the 30 packs.

Back when I was a boy, you would each carry your slab to party, and hope someone could drive to the bottlo (bottle shop) in a few hours to get some more. There is a classic Australian song called "The Slab"

This is my late teenage, early 20's... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGBE-0Z8GVs

I could tell you a few tales...
